화이팅 (hwaiting)

   You can do it; keep going. Shouted before an exam, a match, a shift or a difficult conversation. Encouragement, never an instruction to fight.

   화이팅 and 파이팅 are the same word; the second is the spelling the National Institute of Korean Language prefers, the first is what most people write.

Where it comes from

From English 'fighting', borrowed through mid-century sport. Japanese ファイト is the same borrowing narrowed the same way, and the two spread in parallel.
