What it means

   Vibe; the feel or atmosphere of a place, a track or a person. Used approvingly on its own — вайб! — and in вайбовый 'with a good atmosphere'.

2. 2.

   The verb вайбовать means to get into the mood of something, typically music. Firmly under-thirty vocabulary and already sounding slightly worn.

Where it comes from

English 'vibe', imported around 2018 through music and social media. Russian already had атмосфера for this, and the borrowing survives because it is shorter and marks the speaker as young.
