   A party, a gathering, a night out — and also the crowd that shows up to it. тусовка additionally means a scene or milieu: театральная тусовка is the theatre crowd.

   The verb тусить means to hang out, with no partying necessarily involved: тусим дома is a quiet evening in with friends.

Where it comes from

From тасовать 'to shuffle cards' — a party as a room of people being shuffled together. It emerged in late-Soviet youth and music circles and has stayed current for forty years, which is unusual for party slang.
