флексить (fleksit)

What it means

1. 1.

   To show off — money, clothes, a holiday. Borrowed from American rap slang and given a standard Russian infinitive, so it conjugates like any native verb: флексю, флексишь, флексил.

2. 2.

   A secondary sense of 'to dance, to move loosely' came in at the same time and survives mainly in lyrics.

Where it comes from

English 'to flex', arriving through hip-hop around 2017 and immediately fitted with the -ить suffix that Russian uses for almost every imported verb — the same machinery that produced гуглить and лайкнуть.
